Jose Mourinho said on Friday that Chelsea could be persuaded to cash in on Schurrle, 24, if they received "a phenomenal offer," and Wolfsburg -- who signed Kevin De Bruyne from the Blues a year ago -- were reported to be leading the race for his services.
Bild had reported on Monday that Schurrle's agent, Ingo Haspel, and the player's father, Joachim, spent the last weekend in London, and The Guardian also claimed a Wolfsburg delegation had held talks with the Premier League club.
However, when asked whether it is true that Wolfsburg are interested in signing Schurrle in January, the club's sporting executive Klaus Allofs said in kicker: "A very clear no."
Speaking to Bild, Allofs added: "There's nothing to [the speculation]. Even if we were interested, we'd certainly not be alone."
Bild reports that one of the interested parties may be Borussia Dortmund, who are facing the prospect of losing fellow Germany attacker Marco Reus in the summer.
Dortmund CEO Aki Watzke refused to be drawn on his club's interest, telling Bild: "We generally do not comment on any speculation."
Schurrle, who joined Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2013, starred for Germany in their World Cup success last summer but has struggled for first-team opportunities this season.
